News and Notes

The Florida Central Chapter recently presented 52 Pre-Paid Telephone cards to the Veteran's Hospial in Gainesville.  The cards will be distributed to needy veterans to help them stay in touch with their families.  Nancy Baker, Chief of Volunteer Services at the Gainesville Veterans Hospital accepted the card. The Chapter is looking for volunteers to help with our Chapter. We need an editor, publicity person and a 50/50 person. We are working with a skeleton crew and it makes it hard for all of us involved. You only have to attend a few Board Meetings and two Membership Meetings. If you would like to come forward to make the job eas-ier for all involved please contact Chapter Chair Kathi Rivenburg at 352-854-8585.

Chapter Events

The Florida Central Chapter has scheduled a Membership Meeting for Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel in Ocala beginning at 9:00am.  The guest speaker will be RPEA Executive Director Alan Dorn.  There will also be a business meeting and door prizes.  The cost to attend this meeting is $16.00/person and includes your choice of lunch (Chicken Cordon Bleu or Roasted Pork Loin).  For more information please contact Kathi Rivenburg at 352-854-8585 or Margaret Schoonmaker at 352-613-7155.
