ExcelleShare is a Program of the Center for Excellence in Aging Services (CEAS/University at Albany) and the National Council On Aging.
ExcelleShare’s Mission is to recruit, train, mentor and sustain leadership volunteers aged 55+. These leadership volunteers will be matched and placed with non-profit and
government agencies and will contribute to the overall capacity building of the host organization through community collaborations, effective community outreach,
needs assessments, and assistance from UAlbany teaching resources.
ExcelleShare’s Vision is to make CEAS the home for a one stop Volunteer Resource and Support Center for leadership volunteer opportunities and capacity building. It will provide assistance to non-profit and government agencies in New York’s Capital Region, providing personal development, continued civic engagement, and innovative, up-to-date volunteer management models and techniques.

Humane Society of New York, is always looking for people that might be interested in driving their van (doing various errands), cleaning, or performing various clerical duties. The Humane Society is open seven days a week, and their hospital and adoption center can always use some animal-loving, positive people to be a part of our team. In addition to paid positions, we have an outstanding group of volunteers – our youngest is 14 and our oldest is a very young at heart 89. And trust me, when she gets going, it’s a challenge to keep up with her!
If you’d like to learn more about the Humane Society, please visit their website at: www.humanesocietyny.org. Anyone can feel free to call at (212) 752-4842, ext. 236.
